The Secured Futures Pooled Trust provides specialized and professional trust administration services for disabled individuals, including persons disabled by age-related infirmities.*

Secured Futures enables its beneficiaries to establish or maintain their financial eligibility for public assistance benefits, while also preserving their resources in Trust for supplemental needs and general support.

Individuals that can benefit from joining the Secured Futures Pooled Trust include:

  • Recipients of personal injury settlements
  • Elderly persons who have become infirm*
  • Nursing home residents or soon-to-be nursing home residents*
  • Beneficiaries of stand-alone support trusts that require professional trust administration
  • Other applicants or recipients of needs-based public assistance benefits

*- Some states prohibit the use of a pooled trust beyond age 65, or may require a spend-down of assets before becoming eligible for Medical Assistance benefits in those states.

A National Trust

The Social Security Administration has completed a formal review of the Secured Futures Pooled Special Needs Trust and has advised Secured Futures that the Trust meets all of the requirements for the Medicaid exception to apply for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) purposes. The Secured Futures Trust will not be considered a countable resource for SSI puposes.
